Does Whole Foods = Whole PayCheck? Tips on Eating Healthy on a Budget

-cooking from scratch allows you to monitor what goes into your food, and allows you to adjust sugar/sodium that you may want to take out of the recipe to make it healthier.

2. Don't get fooled by 'organic'

-Recently the term 'organic' has been more oversaturated than Paris Hilton's air-time on MTV. Do not be fooled! Only certain foods are more important, or give u a greater nutritional advantage if you get organic vs. regular. Here is the list:

-Bell Peppers
-Green Beans

3. Handicap your supermarket circular before you go.

Have an agenda. Put together a 'healthy' clean and concise list of all the products you need before you go to the store. Streamline this process so that you can take advantage of sales.

4. Shop Online. There are many online grocers. This will save gas to-and-from the Grocery store and it will save you $$$ and TIME..which is invaluable. Here are some sites

5. COUPONS!!!!

Sites such as offer FREE coupons on many popular items. Also many grocers such as Kroger offer DOUBLE coupon days! Don't be afraid to ask.

Those are my tips for eating healthier without it eating at your pockets. Remember people it is more important to shop SMARTER than HARDER!
